- The TeleShare remote access package enables you to share your
- personal computer running DOS with another PC wherever they
- can both be connected by a decent telephone connection. Its
- RAM small size enables you to work with very memory hungry
- software packages that squeeze out the competition. The
- software included here is assembled as a useful toolkit, with
- various parts being easily replaced by other software as your
- prefer. Normally, the install program will give you
- installation options: 1) Basic or minimal; 2) Add-in to
- other telecom software; and 3) All of it, including the full
- database and menu set. Normally, it is recommended that you
- install the entire package because the TsPhone.exe program
- helps you learn and configure the system. Once you 'get a
- feel or a handle' on the system, you can remove selected
- portions (such as the COM tools). TsPhone does include an
- UNINSTALL to remove the TeleShare directory from your system
- should you wish to do so. Your particular disk set may be
- pre-configured to install everything, or may be tuned for a
- particular purpose (eg remote use only), or you may be short
- on disk space and need to choose the 'BASIC' option.

- Most of these programs have a matching manual, such as
- RUNT.DOC for RUNT.EXE. The programs with [Doc] at the right
- side have a matching manual. The TSR and TSH programs share
- the TSRTSH.DOC. The larger programs, like TSPHONE and GENMGR
- have user changeable on-line help that larger replaces the
- manuals for most uses. The scripts used by tsphone are
- described in SCRIPT.DOC. Many programs also have command line
- help as in "SOME.EXE -h".
-
- TSH/TSR/XM/TS_WAIT and TSSETUP have some years of use by many
- users, in previous releases. They should provide very stable
- core remote support/access capability. Versions of GENMGR.exe
- and the RUNT have been in use for 2-3 years.
-
- You do need to have a modem for the remote support functions,
- but it does not have to be Hayes compatible. The modem
- database and other features commonly assume some form of Hayes
- compatiblity.

- Printing the Manuals
-
- The documentation is in plain text, or ascii, format and
- contains form feed characters to advance the pages. Please be
- sure to read the individual manuals on disk before deciding to
- print them out. A primary reason for so many small manuals is
- to make finding the right information easier. It also means
- that you only need to print out what you need, if you need to
- print anything.
-
- To print, use 'COPY TSRTSH.DOC PRN' to send the documentation
- to the printer. The files should end up on paper properly
- paginated and ready to be punched with holes on the left.
- Repeat the process for each file ending in ".DOC". You could
- use "COPY *.DOC PRN" to copy them all to the printer, but it
- could waste a lot of paper on manuals that you never use.
-
-
- Note that not all of the programs are the property of P. C.
- Softsmith. You should check the documentation if you adopt
- the tool.
